Mrs. Michelle has over 15 years of experience as a performer, choreographer, and dance teacher. She began her formal dance training at age seven under the instruction of Mrs. Rita Barton at the Cenla Academy of Performing Arts where she studied ballet, tap, and jazz dance. Two years later, she was accepted into the Red River Dance Theatre Company in Alexandria, LA where she trained in classical ballet choreography, character/folk dance, and dance theatre. She danced with both the Cenla Academy of Performing Arts and Red River Dance Theatre Company until she graduated high school. Immediately following graduation, Mrs. Michelle continued her studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as a Dance & Theatre Major. She was also a member of the University's independent hip-hop dance team - Infinity Dance Group before joining the military in 2011. Some of her performance credits include roles in classical repertoire such as The Nutcracker, La Bayadere, Tarantella, and Don Quixote. She is a certified Acrobatic Arts, Alixia Flexibility, PBT, and PreK - 12 dance instructor.
Outside of her role as a Dance Educator and Youth Protection Advocate in Dance, Mrs. Michelle is a lover of life and enjoys spending time with her family, working on her small family homestead, and giving back wherever she can. She and her husband Blake are Louisiana transplants and have four beautiful children named Jathan, Maci Grace, Trayson, and Peyton.
